Delhi COVID-19 Cases Jan 29: According to the municipal health department, there were 4,044 new Covid-19 cases and 25 deaths reported on Friday, with the COVID-19 positivty rate dropping to 8.60 percent. When compared to the previous day, when 4,291 new infections were discovered, the city saw a little decline in its daily tally. Meanwhile, retailers were spotted advising clients to follow Covid-19 regulations on the first day of markets without the odd-even rule.
With the loosening of limitations in the city, random testing at metro stations and other areas has also begun. The crowds were few in places like Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, and residential markets.

Delhi COVID-19 Helpline Still Getting Distress Calls: Although the number of new Covid cases and the test positivity rate have dropped by about 80% in the last two to three weeks, Delhi's Covid hotline 1031 continues to receive a high volume of calls. Officials said that, despite the fact that the number of calls has dropped to about half in the last few days, around 1,000 people call the number every day for information on vaccinations and hospital beds, as well as to consult doctors about their symptoms and for medication recommendations.

According to data compiled by the Delhi government's health department, the helpline receives the most requests for teleconsultations with doctors, followed by those seeking information on prophylactic doses and immunizations for children. The number of calls increased from two on January 1 to 2,041 on January 12, when the positive rate surpassed 25%. Since then, the numbers have steadily decreased, with 983 calls received on January 25.
