Sharadiya Navaratri 2021 is about to begin from 7th October. Navaratri is a Hindu festival that spans nine nights (and ten days) and is celebrated nationwide every year in the autumn season. It is celebrated for different reasons and is celebrated differently in various regions of India.
In theory, there are four seasonal Navaratri. However, in practice, it is the post-monsoon autumn festival called Sharada Navaratri that is the most recognized in the honor of the Devi (Durga). The festival is celebrated in the bright half of the Hindu calendar month Ashvin, which typically falls in the Gregorian months of September and October.

Navaratri celebrations include worshipping nine goddesses throughout the nine days, stage decorations, reciting of the folk stories, enacting of the story, and chanting of the scriptures related to Hinduism. The nine days are also cover major crop season cultural events. The event includes competitive design and staging of pandals. Families pay visits to these pandals and the public celebration of classical and folk dances of Hindu culture also takes place.

rate Navaratri by fasting for nine days. On the final day, called Vijayadashami, the statues are either immersed in a water body such as a river or ocean, or the statue symbolizing the evil entity is burnt using fireworks, marking the destruction of evil. This festival is called 'Dusherra'. Vijayadashami also starts the preparation for Diwali, the festival of lights, which is celebrated twenty days after Vijayadashami.
