Navratri 2020 Durga Ashtami-Navami Kanya Pujan, Bhog:
From the very beginning, devotees wake up early and take bath and wear new clothes to celebrate Durga Puja. People offer Laal Chunri, long, karsi, mango leaf, Paan leaf, flowers, and milk to the idol of Goddess. After that, break Nariyal (Coconut) and keep it as a prasad for the devotees. People make Halwa, Puri, and Chana for prasad and distribute it among the young girls called Kanya. This practice can be followed on Ram Navami.
During Kanya Puja, Devotees wash the feet of little girls who symbolizes Maa Durga nine incarnation. They offer them prasad and some gifts like bangles, new clothes or other items. It is said that worshipping girls on Kanya Pujan brings positivity and peace of mind.
The Goddess may bless all with integrity and faithfulness. People celebrate this day with great joy and prosperity. Due to Covid, this Navratri 2020 Day 8 is incomplete as devotees cannot celebrate this festival with that much joy.
