UP Elections 2022: BJP's troubles increasing as Backward Class MLAs quiting party, 8 seats given in 2017

UP Elections 2022: Bhartiya Janta party has suffered a setback due to the resignation of other veteran leaders including ministers Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini, and Dara Singh Chauhan, who come from backward classes in the state. The problems of the sitting BJP MLAs have increased due to these backward class leaders leaving the party. The MLAs are believing that the leaders who have left the party will also have an impact in those assembly constituencies of the state where people of their caste and society are in majority.

Swami Prasad Maurya, MLA from Padrauna (Kushinagar) and minister in the state government, Dara Singh Chauhan, MLA and minister from Madhuban in Mau, Dharam Singh Saini, MLA and minister of state from Nakud, Saharanpur, Dharam Singh Saini, BJP MLA from Banda's Tindwari, Brijesh Prajapati, Kanpur Bhagwati Prasad Sagar from Bilhaur in the countryside, Roshan Lal Verma from Tilhar in Shahjahanpur, Vinay Shakya from Auraiya's Vidhuna, Lakhimpur Kheri MLA Bala Prasad Awasthi and Shikohabad MLA Mukesh Verma have left the BJP party in last couple of days.

BJP MLA Avtar Singh Bhadana from Meerpur seat of Meerut has also left the party and joined RLD. The names of MLAs who left BJP and joined Samajwadi Party include Rakesh Rathor from Sitapur Sadar, Jai Choubey from Khalilabad, Madhuri Verma from Nanpara (Bahraich) and KK Sharma from Bulandshahr.

These leaders are not only considered as the faces of their caste but they are also heard in the caste. This is the reason that in the 2017 assembly elections, BJP gave ticket to Swami Prasad Maurya along with his son Utkrisht Maurya. Six other supporters of Swami Prasad were also given tickets. Dara Singh Chauhan also has a good hold in his society. Chouhan was also given an important post like the National President of the OBC Morcha by the BJP. Dharam Singh Saini came from Saharanpur by defeating Imran Masood of Congress.

The concern of the big leaders of the party that these MLAs leave the BJP can be gauged from the fact that since the last two days, the BJP is trying to send a message to the backward vote bank that the backward class should get a chance to move forward in the party itself. could. 

On Thursday, BJP state president Swatantradev Singh said that the social, political and economic representation of OBC society has not been received in any government as much as it has got in the BJP. For them 'P' means upliftment of the backward, while for some 'P' means only upliftment of father, son and family. 

BJP leaders are also subconsciously believing that if the damage control is not done in time, then the backward class MLAs leaving the party will not only affect the vote bank of the BJP in their own seat but will also increase the difficulties in other seats.
